July 6 declared holiday for Eid al-Fitr

MANILA, Philippines (3rd UPDATE) – Wednesday, July 6, is a regular holiday to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, Malacañang announced Monday, July 4.

Proclamation No. 6, s. 2016, has been signed by President Rodrigo Duterte, declaring July 6 a regular holiday.

Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, and under Republic Act 9177, is considered a regular holiday throughout the country.
