On July 9, 2013, Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) led by its President Dr. Alfonso Siy with other officers attended the Manila Overseas Press Club (MOPC) Celebration of Filipino-American Friendship Day and Testimonial Dinner in honor of outgoing US Ambassador to the Philippines His Excellency Harry K. Thomas, Jr. at Hotel Intercontinental, Makati.
Ambassador Thomas thanked the MOPC for inviting him as the guest of honor and speaker during the event. He expressed his appreciation to the men and women of the Philippine media for their professionalism as well as their thorough coverage of his work in Manila as the US Ambassador to the Philippines. As he is wrapping up his Ambassadorship to the Philippines, he felt truly blessed to have enjoyed the friendship of Filipinos and his stay as a diplomat in the Philippines.
Vice President Jejomar C. Binay was also invited to speak during the event. He praised US Ambassador Harry Thomas, Jr. for his various accomplishments during his posting to Manila. He wished Ambassador Thomas best and to accomplish much even more on his new posting. He also expressed hope that the US-Philippines friendship would continue to maximize to its fullest their relationship that is based on mutual, strategic benefit for both nations.
Also present during the event were: FFCCCII Vice Presidents Domingo Yap, Henry Lim Bon Liong, David Chua, Alex Yap Choty, Victor Lim, External Affairs Committee Co-Chairman Nelson Guevarra, News and Media Vice Chairmen Dr. Thomas Chua and Dr. Lily Lim.
