Upon the instruction of FFCCCII President Dr. Alfonso Siy, the External Affairs Committee led by its Adviser, Vice President Domingo Yap, and Chairman George Chua Cham had a meeting with Police Director Leonardo A. Espina, Regional Director of National Capital Regional Police Office(NCRPO) at Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City on July 04, 2013 at 9:00 am.
During the meeting, the officers of External Affairs Commiitee requested the Regional Director to look into the robbery incident allegedly committed by the notorious “Bukas Bodega Gang”. The FFCCCII received report from a Chinese trader, who is a victim of the Robbery/Carnapping Incident at his warehouse located at Paranaque City. Six unidentified armed suspects get inside the victim’s warehouse and declare hold-up and at gunpoint took from the victim RTW items and his Toyota van.
This is the third “Bukas Bodega Gang” robbery incident reported to FFCCCII. One is on April, 2010, at a warehouse located at Balut, Tondo. Another is on June, 2012 which happened at La Torre, Tondo, Manila. Many Chinese traders whose warehouse located in Baclaran, Pasay, Paranaque were victims of this notorious gang. The gang’s modus operandi is to apply one of their members as warehouse helper and will serve as informant to the gang for possible target. The gang usually targets Chinese nationals due to their practice of not filing complaints to police. The Chinese traders normally failed to get the detailed information of their employee/helper which may lead for the possible arrest of the gang.
FFCCCII’s officers submitted all the above incident reports to Police Director Espina. Police Director said he will discuss and instruct the Regional Intelligence Unit to make follow up operations for possible arrest of the suspects and will update the FFCCCII on the progress of their investigation.
Present during the meeting were Co-Chairman Nelson Guevarra, Vice Chairman Gan Tiak Kheng and Tomas Valles.
