FFCCCII President Dr. Cecilio K. Pedro urges Filipino Chinese #youth of De La Salle University’s Englicom to help Philippine progress as future outstanding entrepreneurs and professionals

Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (#FFCCCII) President Dr. Cecilio K. Pedro was the recent on November 25, 2023, Saturday 10am invited guest speaker at the annual “Nexus” conference of the dynamic Englicom organization of Filipino Chinese college students of De La Salle University (#DLSU).

The topic of his speech was “Entrepreneurial Journey Overcoming Challenges”.

The civic and business leader shared various advice and words of wisdom in his extemporaneous speech.

Himself a philanthropist and an industrialist who founded Happee Toothpaste to dare compete with giant Western multinational giants, Dr. Pedro recounted his own colorful and inspiring entrepreneurial journey with a lot of stories also on his spiritual journey as a devout Christian businessman.

He encouraged the Englicom officers and members to uphold high standards of excellence, success habits, Confucian moral values and to cherish traditional Chinese culture such as speaking more in Hokkien or the south Fujian language.

Dr. Pedro also encouraged and challenged the Englicom youth to contribute to Philippine economic development and social progress with their future socio-civic, professional or entrepreneurial accomplishments.

The dynamic and successful Englicom organization of DLSU Filipino Chinese college students was established in 1966, led by then student leader, also future accomplished businessman and a future officer of the FFCCCII Mr. Sebastian Antonio Roxas-Chua.

Also present at the Nexus Conference of Englicom were FFCCCII officers led by Vice-President and Youth Committee Adviser Reynold Siy, FFCCCII Board Member and Youth Committee Chairman Peter Mangasing, FFCCCII Youth Committee Co-Chairman and Anvil Business Club Honorary Chairman Jayson Sze, FFCCCII Board Member and Trade & Industry Committee Chairman George Siy (also Anvil Business Club Chairman Emeritus), FFCCCII Public Information and Media Committee Vice-Chairman and Anvil Business Club Honorary Chairman Hubert Chua, and others.
